Keys are in!

All day, I felt like I was going to puke from the butterflies pounding around in my stomach.  The only thing I could think about was: house, house and more house.   When the call came in from the lawyer that the keys were available for pick up, it was cruel because it came right before a counsel meeting. During the meeting, my mind wandered from psychological testing norms to house, education to house... then after about 30 of the 90 minutes, it was just house.  If you are just tuning in.  My love and I bought the most perfect home.

After the meeting, I didn't have the patience to wait for a taxi during rush hour.  The walk from the most North Eastern end of the Byward Market to the Glebe was brutal.  It was really speed walking, in heels, for just over 30 minutes.  The scenery that I passed was beautiful, like the tourists, I did take a few moments to stop and enjoy.  Also the stopping to take pictures was a good excuse to breathe since I'm horribly out of shape.

The commute was quickened by a short-cut through a park and over some locks.  Thank goodness I know my way around this city.  In the three years of living downtown I have learned some short-cuts and to have no fear when J-walking.

By the the time I was half way to the lawyer's office and around parliament, I was winded.  So out of shape.  One thing I must promise myself after the move is to start working out.  We have many sports equipment: roller blades, long boards, snowboards, punching bag, tennis racket, weights and good-old reliable runners.  They all should be dusted off and put to use.

A sign that summer is over and that fall has arrived is Spark Street being deserted.  It's a little sad walking down this street when there's no vendors, patios or buskers.

Our prize :)
Finally, we are officially home owners.
Chris and I went straight the the east end suburbs to explore our new home.

When we got into the kitchen there was a home warming gift from the previous owners.  I have never had this liquor before, but I love elephants so it made me smile.  As we walked around we talked about all of our renovating dreams.  The first major project will be the bathroom... but there's tons of little projects that we will be working on soon.  It's exciting.

I plan on posting a tour of the new home tomorrow.

Tonight! I promise to post the video of the inside. I've been busier than I anticipated with this move that I haven't had time to upload the video. We won't be all settled for awhile but the house is a project for Chris and I.
