Inspirational Advice

I'm always a hesitant when posting something that is really revealing about who I am.  Me.  I am a girl who has issues.  In previous posts, I've alluded to my body image issues.  One post I've come out and admitted to struggling with an Eating Disorder and having a distorted body image.  But so what?!  We all struggle with issues, right?!

Six months ago, I made the decision to start to see a shrink.  Living with a depressed mood and seeing myself as a monster when I look in the mirror is not normal... it's not healthy.  It must change.

I do feel hopeful that things will change.  That I will look in the mirror and be happy with what I see.  That I will wake up not dreading getting out of bed.  That I will not be fearful and anxious about what others think about me.  This hope comes for little changes that have already happened in the last six months.

Below is a video that my Shrink sent me.  For me, I found it helpful and I wanted to share.  Take care xo

Thanks for sharing! I have also suffered with depression and body issues and its so important to know that you're not alone. Medication is one thing, but talking to someone who won't judge you is the best way in moving forward! What I learned from depression is never be ashamed of who you are and don't let it define you. xoxoxo Emily

I love it when you open up... seriously we're probably the same person haha.
So has your shrink helped with you being more open? I have such a hard time expressing my feelings out loud (writing is another story, but i don't do it as often as i should), and its probably hurting my relationship.... how has he/she helped you?
