Rainy Hazy Days

There are times when waking up in pain is a good thing. When I made the choice to run yesterday, I surprised myself. It's been just over four months since my last run so there was this worry of collapsing after one block. I was able to run a whole eight blocks before the overwhelming need to walk kicked in. After a minute of walking I was off again to finish the goal I set out for myself. Running used to make me happy. When I developed knee problems it just caused pain... But with continued physiotherapy I am able to run. Expelling pent up energy felt good.

One valuable lesson I learned while running yesterday was: Taking the forest path less traveled after a night of freezing ran while it's still raining is not the smartest choice. For many reasons:
1) we live in marsh land... It's always damp and with the rain, the whole forest is a giant muddy puddle
2) I mentioned the freezing rain, which meant that some spots were slippery to say the least
3) the forest was new terrain to me, one I've never been through before and was surprisingly dense... I didn't get lost but most likely took the longest way around to find the exit

That's what I feel like I need to do. I'm going to get cabin fever if I don't do something =s. But I can't handle the cold like you.

8 blocks after 4 months of hiatus? Don't tell me you're not pretty proud of yourself? You should be sweetie! Did you know that I've been teaching Yoga and fitness classes for over 9 years now and I still suck, Suck with a Capital S!

P.s. Those photos were taken at the Museum of Civilization last Sunday. I had a photoshoot with Yola Couture!
