Welcome Home Kasuku

This adorable cartoon is probably a good predictor of the relationships to come.  Chris has already made a comment or two about wanting attention.  Poor boy.  All these years he had the XBox 360 as his "other woman", and now that I have an attention demanding critter, he pouts.

A blurry documentation of the cat-parrot introductions.  As Jake inched up the cage to check out Kasuku  she did a every quick nip at Jake's nose.  Thankfully no contact was made.  Jake got the hint and hasn't gotten that close to Kasuku since.  I'm sure once Kasuku gets settled and the novelty of the parrot wears off for Jake, they will be good friends.

Hercules was camera shy yesterday, but eager to show off his moves.  He flew around the house doing all of his impressive tricks.  One of his tricks is refusing to go back to bed..... Annoying? Yes!  But at least he & I got exercise running around the house.

 Post nap chill time.

Kasuku is a chatter box.  Anytime I would talk to Chris, she piped in with a laugh or mumble. It's adorable.

is she an african grey?????
ive spend many many fun hours on youtube by putting in "talking parrots"
i LOVE birds/parrots so much, im always so amazed at how sociable they are and how much they truly enjoy human company. I always wanted a parrot but find i would be able to give it a life it deserves because i work a lot, plus meep will probably think he/she is dinner.

Thanks Shybiker and Lady Lipstick, I will be posting videos in the future. Right now she is still getting settled but being very sweet.

Krista her name means parrot in Swahili. It's a very cute name and she's had it for over 20 years.

Sweden parrots are amazing pets and do need attention daily. They need about an hour (not consecutive per day). And with the proper toys, love & diet they are very happy when you are at work. The cats are a different story... it took a lot of training & time outs to keep Jake calm around the bird.

So beautiful! I love how you have birds and a cat together- it's like those unlikely animal friendships! Happy Monday xo
