An Old Man's Birthday (hehehe)

 

Happy Birthday Dadoo!

Technically my dad's birthday was yesterday, but it's nice to spread out the special days.  

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

  

As children, I remember that dad would always watch our crazy kid shows with us.  He would laugh when we did and also at the hidden adult jokes.  Which as children we never understood why he was laughing, just appreciated the time with him.  The name "dadoo" comes from the show Animanics which we loved.   I must admit that trying to pick out the best segments on You Tube, I laughed at both the kid & adult jokes. Cartoons are never just for kids, and I will always stick to that belief.

My dad is the best! Recently my dad has moved to Ottawa's rival... Toronto.  Note: It's not really our rival, just when it comes to hockey we tend to get our hate on.  It makes me a little sad to think that there was over 3 years that we were living in the same city and didn't take full advantage of it.  But he's a busy man and I'm antisocial at times, so that tends to lead to less hanging out.  It just means that we will have to make more of a point to see each other when he is close to Ottawa...Then again, it's a good excuse to visit Toronto.  I hope he has had a wonderful birthday, that he isn't hurting today from the night out on the town... and an even better year growing older.
