Goodnight Kasuku

Ah-freaking-dorable!

After the slowest ride home, Chris and I headed out to Carp for our play date with Kasuku and "Auntie Evelyn".   The play date was mostly me asking an insane amount of questions, running by what I've read and listening to Evelyn's stories... all the while Kasuku tried to pipe in with laughs and play. During this visit, Kasuku was more social and tried to get close to Chris and I.  She was nervous at first but soon warmed up.  Evelyn was kind enough to point out that Kasuku's liking to Chris was mostly "hormonal" as she did a mating dance at the end of the evening, with her eyes locked onto him.

Evelyn is a lovely lady who looks after Kasuku during holidays and extended weekends away from home.  She was beyond cool and I adored talking to her.  Throughout the evening we got to hear stories about when she lived in the African bush with four monkey pets.... yes, I said MONKEYS! How kick ass is that?! The best story by far was the one when she was arguing with her husband late in the night, while in the hut that they lived in... when her monkey came through the hole in the roof (hole was there to allow the hot air escape) to bitch slap the husband. I wish we went earlier... but I think that after Kasuku gets settled, I'll just invite her over for tea and more stories.

Very cute and an auspicious beginning. You may have female-competition for Chris. :)

I don't know why birds have suck a bad rep as pets. I love my two birdies and they don't make anymore of a mess then their cage which is open all day. They fly around but never poop or chew up anything.
Kasuku is adorable and I can't wait to met Kasuku!

Sweden, I'm not too sure is Alex was stressed or sick. When I first saw the video, I felt the same thing... it was concerning to see all his feathers gone & not wanting to be out of his cage. Sadly, soon after that video, Alex passed away at the young age of 30.
