Welcome to the Freak Show

All of the family festivities came and went by in a flash. It started off, yesterday with traveling up to Kingston to see our parents and siblings.  Saturday was dinner with Momma C.  She made a yummy duck and bought us an amazing BBQ (which will have to be put together tomorrow).

After dinner we thought decided to top of the night with Fort Fright

On top of a hill, overlooking beautiful Lake Ontario, sits Fort Henry.  Usually I am not a fan of this place, for let's say personal reasons that I won't get into... but the idea of going through the old musty fort while it's decorated for Halloween was intriguing.

Watching the sun set over the lake was beautiful.  Even if there was haunting scenes at every turn.

Our matching smiles :)

The freak show was interesting... corny but entertaining.  It was mostly a one-man show, where he: hammered nails up his nose, pierced his tongue with a hook to lift rocks and other squeamish acts.

AHHH! It's the possessed clown/doll Jaclyn!!! So scary... you can tell I'm terrified.

Chris was almost as afraid of this evil monk!

You have to admit.  This man-eating doll is creepy.  The worst was that it actually moved to gnaw at the arm... creepy.  When I saw it, I definitely walked by quickly pretending that it didn't scare me.   Chris was kind enough to take a picture to always remind me of my irrational fears of dolls.  Ahh...

Chris's little brother, Ant had too much fun scaring people.  He would run through the corn maze, only to jump out or scream at people walking by.  Most likely he will take up Jaclyn's offer to volunteer.  It was a fun night, the fort was nicely done up and I honestly got scared 3 times.  One of those times was when Jaclyn's dad jumped out at me before I went into a trippy vortex.

Today was my parent's turn to feed us.  We had our traditional thanksgiving dinner: Chinese food and pizza.  Yummmy!  The tradition started off when we would have thanksgiving dinner with our neighbors.  The less time spent on cooking, the more time we all got to hang out and have fun.

My parents' new backyard:

Chris and I were so jealous of my parents' backyard!

Overall the weekend was nice, we got to see most of our close family members.  There was no drama, just chilling. Next weekend is my midterm, so I will have to find some time tomorrow to study in between relaxing and doing house chores.

Oh I wish we have that tradition! Cooking turkey is a whole day affair so at the end of dinner, we are so passed out! =)

Love these photos! You both are like those beautiful people couple!

Happy Thanksgiving!

@20 York Street Awe ! <3 Thanks :) The ordering out is a great tradition and saves us the major clean up afterwards. But there's also something special about the smell of a turkey roasting. Happy Txgiving!

Gorgeous view! These photos make me miss Kingston. Fort Fright looks like it was fun but yeah, that man eating doll can stay out of my nightmares, thanks!

@Krista The doll is way too creepy. I miss Kingston at times too... but at least you are in beautiful BC with your love coming home soon.

Loved watching my touture, eh? Dad's very pleased that he scared you. I miss you and krista here in ktown. PS. Man eatting doll's name is Spitting Betty. I'm noty sure if she was spitting blood. I refuse to go into those chambers.

@Jaclyn Your torture made me sad. But I always love seeing you. Chris is a little jealous at how excited I get before we have a date. Spitting Betty is beyond freaky, like Krista, she haunts my dreams.
