Kitty Nail Art

I adore Hello Kitty.  It's a little disturbing that as a grown woman I still get joy in seeing this adorable anime character.  She's just so darn cute, how can I ever grow out of her?!  But I do have to thank my mother for talking me out of getting a Hello Kitty tattoo... at the age of 15/16 years old, I didn't have the best decision making skills.

Proof: Tube top from my teenage years... a little inappropriate but you have to love it.

Feathers & Sparkles Everywhere

Right now it looks like a bird filled with glitter, gems & everything pretty has exploded in my art room.  Jake is loving the mess and has already run off with a couple feathers in his mouth.  Chris thankfully hasn't seen it, and I'll be keeping the door shut to avert his judging eyes.  But, the craft day with Mo was a great success!

My visit to British Columbia has left me with an obsession for feathered hair pieces.  They are so pretty and paired with glitter, pearls, mirrors, gems and/or flowers can make them adaptable for any season.

My inspiration piece whenever I dive into making feathered hair accessories was bought in a little store outside of Victoria called Baja Rosi's. I love it! And any excuse to wear it, it's in my hair... no matter what the occasion.

These pieces, I made with Jaclyn.  She has made some really pretty ones too.

All of the  brown based, pearl & shell pieces I sent to my sister as a "back to school" gift.  Plus I felt bad that I couldn't help her with the move out to her school-time home.

Today's hair pieces are going to be kept secret for a little while.  Mo & I have big plans on how we want to present them... and possibly make a lot more.  Our theme for this batch is "holiday cheer"... hence the sparkle explosion.  Some of the pieces will be gifts for some of the loved ones of Mo & me... the others we are still debating on what to do.  Hopefully they are liked by others as much as we adore them. xo

Glitter, Glue & Time

Yesterday morning I started a very messy project, wearing one of Chris's sweaters.  Surely when he realizes that his Billabong sweater is covered in red sparkles, he will be overjoyed.  Mwaha.

These glittered stars inspiration come from reading A Beautiful Mess. For whatever reason I can't find the post Elsie did on the artist who made the awesome star tiara that she is wearing.  The post showed other hair accessories which are all drool worthy.

Please excuse me, as I'm hiding behind the iPhone in the following photographs.
Being grungy + acne + extreme tiredness + florescent lights = horrible self pictures.
My main query is why did the old owners put florescent lights in the vanity?  That's just cruel and unusual.

 {Single Star Clip}

The season of glitter is coming.

{Two Star Headband}

There is a third star waiting to be put on... but I ran out of glue sticks.  Right now I'm kind of liking the two stars.  If there's any Beauties out there who has an opinion: Should it be two or three glittery stars on the headband?  One day I will do a smaller version with white or silver, so that I can wear it to work.

 Awe, Jake is my special little helper.  Technically he's a big cat, but he will always be my little one.

Forgot to Mention:  The reason I made these star hair accessories is because as much as I would love to use my VISA to order my own star tiara...  it's not allowed at this time *pout*.  Bills and paying off credit before the season ends for Chris is priority #1.  Plus with the holidays coming... I have to hold off on all my purchasing urges,  *again, pout*.  So I must get creative with what I have: a bottle of red sparkles, hot glue gun & glue sticks, old hand bands, bobby pins, foam sheets and weekend time.

Mail for Sarah

It took two weeks but finally, the package for my sister arrived.  I was supposed to help her move some furniture to her new place, using my truck.  But, it's a short bed and couldn't even fit half of her stuff.  I felt bad.  So I made her gifts.

Feathered hair accessories that are inspired by Victoria.  During the the girl's BC vacation we kept seeing these really neat feathered accessories but couldn't find any stores that sold them.  It was unfortunate. Krista, Jacklyn, Maggie and I had a craft night to make these feathered accessories that we saw and adored.  I thought of my sister, because she likes trendy hand-made things.  These are the gifts I gave to her.
